Slovenia feels like Europe kept one country just for itself and forgot to tell the rest of the continent. Turquoise rivers, alpine lakes, and medieval towns sit within an hour of each other, with almost none of the crowds you would expect. It is the only country I have visited where I was genuinely humbled not by its size, but by how effortlessly it fit mountains, coastline, and caves into a place smaller than most Indian states.
